True Colours: Hear from Brooks’ clients about their recent treatments
Dolores Rushby
lives in Oakley near Bedford and has been a Brooks’ customer for
over twenty years. Not only does Dolores regularly have her hair
cut at the salon, but she also likes to have frequent beauty
treatments and is a case study client for a Level
3 Complementary Therapy student.
“I think the best thing about Brooks is their
new salon on the high-street, which is really professional with all
the high-quality equipment you would expect for a commercial hair
and beauty establishment. The service that they give is also
excellent. Obviously Brooks is a training environment so you
do need to bear that in mind when you make your appointment, but in
my experience it’s a very pleasant and professional environment to
be in.”
Dolores explained that she is currently a
reflexology case study client for Jessica, a Level 3 Complementary Therapist. This
involves going into Brooks for regular treatments and allowing
Jessica, who is supervised by a tutor, to monitor Dolores over a
period of a few weeks to see how she reacts to the different stages
of the process.
Reflexology is very relaxing and involves
mapping the foot to the body and applying pressure to key zones on
the foot to relieve certain ailments. Dolores is half way through a
six week programme and already feels that the trainee beautician
has pinpointed and made accurate diagnosis of certain health
issues.
“I am really enjoying being a case study
client, it’s a great experience and also good to know that I’m
helping a student to gain their formal qualifications. In the
past I have also been a case study for an aromatherapy student
which involved having massages using essential oils to enhance my
mood and health. In particular, I found that lavender oil was
a great stress relief for me, the treatment was wonderful and very
relaxing.” Dolores added:
